The Miracle of the Red Sea.

This morning I spent some time in the presence of God, reading His Word. Lately I have really been drawn to Exodus, reading about the journey that Moses took the Isrealites on. There were so many miracles that God preformed for them and so many times that God rescued them from the hands of the Egyptians, yet their memories were short, so God would preform another miracle and the people would be reminded of the goodness of God. Then after a bit, they would grumble and complain about their present circumstances. One of my new favorites parts to read is the part about the Red Sea. I did a little bit of research on it. The Red Sea has an average depth of 1,211 feet. The Lord told Moses to part the sea with his staff, and when he did, the waters parted and the Isrealites were able to cross to the other side of the Sea on the dry sea bed. Here is another amazing thing. Once the waters were parted, there was a wall of Sea on each side. So, if they crossed over an area with an average depth of 1,211 ft, thats a sea wall on each side of approximately 605 feet. I love reading about the story of Moses's journey. He was faithful to God, and in turn God preformed miracle after miracle, and provided for him in his time of need. It is a reminder that God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, and He is the same God that guided Moses through the Red Sea.
It is an encouragement for us all, in whatever way we are trusting in God, that He will part the Red Sea  for us and make a way for His will to be done. The only thing we need to do is be willing to plant our staff in the ground and watch Him do what He does best, make the impossible, possible!!
The other thing I read over this morning was a 15 page contract with out adoption agency...There are alot of things that I read in there that have big words and legal matters and your adoption may not work out, and things could be wrong with the children you adopt that they don't know about previously, etc. etc. The list of negative possibilities far out weigh the positive possibilities. If you are in the same position as us, and reading over a contract that totally overwhelms you, dont be discouraged. They put in all of the possibilities in this contract, so that you are sure you know what you are getting into. If God has called you, like us to adopt, He is going to take care of every single detail that we are going to encounter on this journey. We cannot let the enemy take a foot hold of our mind and put doubts and uncertainty in there. Our journey has already been completely planned out by the Lord, all we need to do is walk on the path that he has laid down for us to follow.
